Xmas Lunch and the Olympic Torch arrives at City Hall

OCMers got out on Saturday afternoon for our Christmas lunch party, followed by an amazing opportunity to hold the Olympic Torch and the Lantern that hold the Olympic Flame. Each member had the opportunity for a photo with the flame and lantern. We had a great time cheering the torch on, and we want to thank everyone who came out and we hope to see everyone back in the pool on January 5th for the start of our winter session!

December Workshops 12-13th and 18-19th

Our excellent coaches Michel and Marie have put together a special workshop to be held the mornings of December 12-13, and December 18-19.

One weekend for 40$ or both for 60$.

This will provide a great opportunity to work intensively on your swimming skills and keep up your swimming through December after the session ends on December 8.

If you are interested please let us know at ottawacentremasters@yahoo.com asap to reserve your spot, as places are limited.

Please see the post in the side-bar for more information.

Holiday Party - Saturday December 12th 11:30am

Hello OCM Members,

You are each and all invited to attend our upcoming Christmas/holiday/session wrapup party.

It will be held on Saturday December 12th (not the 13th as suggested in the last email) in order to link up with the Olympic torch relay, which will be passing through downtown Ottawa on that day.

We will be meeting for lunch at Johnny Farina's on Elgin Street (directions and menu at http://www.johnnyfarina.com) from 11:30 a.m. to around 1:30 p.m., and then heading out to see the Olympic relay, which will be in the vicinity that afternoon. If all goes well, we are hoping to try for an OCM photo-op with the Olympic torch.

It would be great to have a good group of OCM members out for this event, and we hope you can join us for a fun outing. Please RSVP to Ali Lamont at amlamont@rogers.com by close of business Wednesday December 2nd if you plan on attending.

Yours with the best of the season,

The OCM Board

We Still Have Room!

I've received a few emails asking if we still have room for new swimmers... and we do!

So come and swim in downtown Ottawa, in the heart of the Byward Market with OCM!

Your first practice is free - so please feel free to drop by anytime and try us out. Just be sure and sign-in as a "Guest Swimmer" at the front desk.

See you on deck!

Coaches

We at OCM are fortunate enough to have 4 coaches.

Tuesday nights: Ginette or Michel
Thursday nights: Marie, Ginette, or Michel
Saturday and Sunday: Michel and Marie (alternating weekends)

Each session the coach will provide a work-out. The work outs have 4 different levels, one for each lane. You may change lanes day to day - depending on who is swimming at the time.

Please speak-up and let your coaches know what you need. If you are looking for pointers on your technique - just ask.

Not sure which drill you should be doing? Ask the coach about which drills would be best for you.
